Our Zoomies provide members of the R(ev)ise and Shine! community with digital, craft-centered content to enrich your writing through live sessions with our faculty. 

Each theme-based conversation focuses on major elements of craft while providing practical tools and tips to support your writing life.

Zoomies offer a safe forum for discussion as we learn together, grow together, and write together.

FAQs

  • Zoomies are online conversations focused on revision and the writing life open to everyone in the R(ev)ise and Shine! community.

    Each event is a combination of a presentation on a particular revision theme, followed by open discussion and Q&A. Depending on the topic, we may also offer writing prompts, tools and tips, and other practical revision advice.

  • You’ll need to reserve a spot through our Eventbrite page in order to receive the link to attend each Zoomie.

    After that, it’s much like any other interactive Zoom event you have previously participated in.

  • The short answer is yes.

    Occasionally, Zoomies are free to all who reserve a spot. However, the cost to attend most Zoomies is around $10 (plus Eventbrite ticketing fees). We may charge more if we invite a special guest presenter. This is much less than the typical online creative writing presentation/workshop.*

    We believe all writers should be paid for their work — and that includes us! Our time and knowledge are valuable, and while we wish to cultivate a community around the Zoomies, we hope folks recognize the amount of time, effort, and preparation that go into presenting each one.

    *We’re also exploring the possibility of establishing a yearly-subscription model for all of our paid online content.

  • At this time there is no set schedule for the Zoomies, although we hope to offer them on a regular basis.
